SENIOR OFFICE ASSOCIATE
NU Public Policy Center
Experienced support professional to provide diverse and complex administrative/executive support and coordination for engagement-focused public policy projects impacting the government at local, state and federal levels. Coordinate externally with policymakers, researchers, citizens and others to achieve project goals. Responsible for coordinating workflow, schedules, activities, meetings, travel and providing administrative support within office.

Provide administrative support and coordination for a variety of projects for multiple project managers including supervising and scheduling student workers; delegating tasks and monitoring follow-through; coordinating and prioritizing tasks for student workers; seeking greater role in projects within administrative areas of competence; seeking creative solutions to problems; taking initiative on requests and inquiries; keeping projects and tasks on schedule; and tracking internal and external deadlines to ensure timely completion; and recommending management action to improve procedures. Duties include making and coordinating travel, meeting, and conference arrangements; completing and tracking travel authorizations and reimbursements; coordinating conference registrations, conducting background research; creating and managing databases; preparing reports and grant applications; coordinating mailings; ordering supplies and services; creating, filing, and maintaining electronic and hardcopy records; attending project-related meetings and recording minutes; answering and directing callers and visitors; and providing other office support, as needed.

Associates plus four years relevant experience or equivalency. Bachelor's preferred. Demonstrated word processing, spreadsheet and database skills essential. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, customer service and problem-solving skills necessary. Must possess ability to work independently and coordinate workflow and complete major projects. Position is grant funded. Excellent benefits including staff/dependent scholarship program.
