ne211.org
The ne211.org website resulted from a collaboration of Nebraska organizations working to ensure that individuals have an easy means to search for health and human service agencies and programs and find the help they need. Ne211.org combined resource information from organizations who maintained databases on several thousand agencies, programs, and services across the state. The ne211.org database was updated on an ongoing basis. From February 2005 through mid-year 2010, the University of Nebraska Public Policy Center operated the website and technical support and hosting were provided by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Department of Computer Science & Engineering.
The ne211.org website was a complementary service to dial 2-1-1. Dial 2-1-1 is the three-digit code that takes callers to live, trained information and referral specialists. Residents of Nebraska can dial 2-1-1 and speak with an information specialist at the 2-1-1 call center, operated by the United Way of the Midlands.
Currently, Internet users who click on Ne211.org are redirected to the information and referral web site provided by Nebraska 2-1-1 and hosted by the United Way of the Midlands.
Key Partners
Key partners in the development of ne211.org included: Lincoln/Lancaster County Health Department; Panhandle Partnership for Health and Human Services; State of Nebraska; United Way of the Midlands.
