Behavioral Health Workforce Development in Nebraska Department of Correctional Services and Nebraska Health and Human Services (LB 242)

The Nebraska Legislature has appropriated funding over two years to the Nebraska Board of Regents for the recruitment of graduate students training as behavioral health professionals. For this project, the Public Policy Center partnered with the Behavioral Health Education Center of Nebraska (BHECN), the Department of Correctional Services, and the Department of Health and Human Services. The objective is to support training in public sector settings and increase the behavioral health workforce for these under served populations. Project funds help provide training stipends, clinical supervision, and continuing education activities focusing on evidence-based approaches to behavioral health assessment and treatment.
