Lincoln Community Energy Conversation

Building off the success of the Taking Charge series of public engagement efforts, the Public Policy Center again worked with the City of Lincoln to gather public input, but his time focused on the City of Lincoln’s energy and sustainability programs. The Center developed an online survey to gain insight from Lincoln residents about barriers, funding, and priorities in regards to Lincoln’s energy and sustainability programs. The survey was followed by an in-person deliberation among survey respondents on energy and sustainability programs, with residents receiving expert information from representatives of the following organizations: Black Hills Energy, City of Lincoln (Cleaner, Greener Lincoln program), HDR Architecture, Lincoln Electrical System, and, and UNL College of Architecture. The information gathered will provide valuable guidance to the development of the City’s Sustainable Plan, a comprehensive agenda for addressing local environmental and energy concerns.
