Lincoln Reads Aloud

Lincoln Reads Aloud situates libraries and museums as leaders to ensure all children are kindergarten ready by promoting reading aloud to children aged 0 – 8. Through this project, Lincoln’s libraries and museums participate in the Prosper Lincoln Early Childhood agenda. By promoting reading aloud and providing trusted “spaces” (both inside and beyond their walls) where children and their families may learn about, experiment with, and dialogue around reading activities.

University of Nebraska Public Policy Center staff will consult with the project to ensure appropriate tools and methodologies are used that will best capture progress on process and outcomes that will be reported to the community and the funder.

The project is funded through a two year grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services’ Community Catalyst Initiative and is matched by local support.
