Nebraska State Patrol NIAC Outreach and Engagement
Center researchers worked to establish a training institute with the Nebraska Information Analysis Center (NIAC) and its stakeholders to strengthen relationships, collaborate, and enhance the use of data at the local level. This project was intended to facilitate the flow of information between NIAC and area law enforcement to better serve the information and intelligence needs in the state of Nebraska with the Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Federal Emergency Management Agency. The Fusion Liaison Officer (FLO) program nominated 30 Law Enforcement officers from agencies across the state including departments of police, county sheriff, State patrol and security forces. The FLO officers will interact with the state regional homeland security system by attending governance meetings and relaying information to local departments.
