Peer Bridger Pilot

Peer Support Services are an important component in the behavioral health system of care and have been shown to improve outcomes for persons with behavioral health challenges. While peer support has been studied extensively in community programs, relatively little is known about effective implementation in inpatient settings.

This project established an innovative pilot for peer bridgers at the Lincoln Regional Center (LRC) through four phases: developing a structure for the pilot with key partners, producing an introductory video about peer support and peer bridger services and how these services can benefit patients/consumers transitioning to the community, developing and administering a survey of key stakeholders regarding the possible implementation methods, and finally, facilitating meetings that lead up to the start of this pilot program.
