State Emergency Response Commission

The Nebraska State Emergency Response Commission (SERC) consists of representatives from  state and local government, including fire, law, public health, schools, industry, transportation, and the public.  The Commission oversees the activities of Local Emergency Planning Committees in identifying and preparing for potential risks from hazardous chemicals. The Public Policy Center helps facilitate strategic planning for SERC to help Nebraska minimize risks from hazardous chemicals, prevent accidents, respond to chemical emergencies, and provide the public with information about events that affect them.
