Taking Charge 2016
Once again, the Public Policy Center partnered with the City of Lincoln Mayor’s office to gather public opinions on particular issues of importance to Lincoln residents. The 2016 Taking Charge resident survey and Community Conversation addressed issues relating to a budget shortfall, as well as allow residents to given input into future City priorities. Residents were ablet o make recommendations regarding cutting specific lower priority programs, raising taxes, or both. Relating to future City priorities, residents weighed in with opinions on how the City should prioritize its future needs, including City projects such as Bennett Martin Library replacement and branch library repair, golf capital replacements, park capital improvements, South Beltway construction, and StarTran service expansion.
