Taking Charge 2017

For the ninth year in a row, the Public Policy Center is working with the City of Lincoln to continue dealing with the gap between growing citizen expectations and limited resources.

This year, the survey will be sent by mail to about 4,000 randomly selected Lincoln households asking residents to evaluate a range of City services including libraries, public transportation, streets, and snow plowing. “What citizens tell us in the survey helps us plan a path toward the results they want. It helps us better understand the impacts of our efforts and guides us towards solutions,” said Lincoln Mayor Chris Beutler. The results of this mailed paper survey will be used to develop an additional online survey to be made public at a later date. This new sampling strategy provides results from each of the four City Council districts that will allow City officials to determine if issues or challenges are specific to certain areas of the community.
