Staff Snapshot: Victoria Stamadianou

Staff Snapshot:

Meet some of the researchers and staff members who make PPC such a great place to work!

For today's staff snapshot, we spoke with Senior Research Specialist, Victoria Stamadianou, whose work focuses on systems of care and behavioral health.

Q&A with Victoria Stamadianou:

  • What is something you have learned from your work and collaborations?
I have come to understand that achieving goals depends on building effective working relationships with colleagues and partners. I tended to underestimate the value of “soft skills” in relation to technical expertise. Now, I believe that without the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively, technical expertise may remain an untapped resource.

  • How do you think the Center’s work impacts Nebraskans?
PPC touches on so many different aspects of Nebraskans’ lives. I think that the common strand is that PPC supports Nebraskans in adding value to existing resources.

  • What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?
To remember that actions speak louder than words.

  • What/who inspires/motivates you?
I relate to the world around me much differently since becoming a mother. My son motivates me to try and be a better, more compassionate person and to contribute as best I can to better conditions for children and families to thrive.

  • What is one challenge you have faced in your career and how did you overcome it?
I struggled with balancing personal and professional priorities. Being a part of the PPC family, I have been able to enjoy both and enrich each part of my life with the other.
