Women's History Month: Ashley Miller

Staff Spotlight:

In honor of Women's History Month, we want to lift up the voices and victories of women. We asked PPC researchers and staff to share their advice for young women today. During the month of March, we will be sharing their replies. Today, we spoke with Research Specialist Ashley Miller, whose work focuses on individual and community resiliency.

Q&A with Ashely Miller

  • What advice do you have for young women today?
While there is no doubt your path is going to include challenges, always remember you will be okay. Know other people have walked through similar challenges, and it is okay to seek support.

  • What is one way your life/work has been impacted by women?
A brilliant, strong, and compassionate woman has become one of my closest friends and a professional role model. Despite her rigorous career demands, fitness goals, and recently becoming a grandmother, she has always found time to guide me in my personal and career development. In large part due to her selfless commitment to my growth, I have flourished both personally and developed numerous professional competencies.

  • Can you think of a specific project you have worked on that directly impacts women?
I manage two virtual cycling teams. The athletes on these teams represent various levels of cycling and personal experience. This platform provides an opportunity to connect and grow as athletes.
