Women's History Month: Lia Bovaird

Staff Spotlight:

In honor of Women's History Month, we want to lift up the voices and victories of women. We asked PPC researchers and staff to share their advice for young women today. During the month of March, we will be sharing their replies. Today, we spoke with Operations Manager Lia Bovaird, who manages the PPC’s overall financial operations.

Q&A with Lia Bovaird

  • What advice do you have for young women today?
The world is yours!  Never settle for living in a way that doesn’t make you happy. Enjoy all of the options that are available to you today.

  • What is one way your life/work has been impacted by women?
My great grandfather had 12 kids and put all of his daughters through nursing or trade school instead of the boys, because he wanted his daughters to be able to take care of themselves. I have been fortunate because of this to view work as more of a privilege rather than a burden.

  • What is one hope you have for your daughters?
My main hope is that they have the courage to chase their dreams without fear of failure.
