Behavioral Health Trainings Available Online

Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services contracts with the University of Nebraska Public Policy Center to coordinate, prioritize, and provide virtual training and continuing education for behavioral health clinicians (LIMHPs, LSWs, LADCs, Psychologists, LSWs, etc.) and peer support workers across Nebraska. Since 2020, we have coordinated 59 training sessions for behavioral health providers and peer support workers to over 7,667 participants. These trainings provide behavioral health trainings on topics such as enhancing peer support through crisis management, motivational interviewing techniques, and person-centered and trauma-informed crisis management and de-escalation. The response from the behavioral health community has been positive and the trainings are consistently well-attended. These free virtual trainings are also made available on the training website at dhhs-dbhtraining.unl.edu.
