FINDING AN INTERNSHIP

There is a great number of internships available in Washington, D.C. in a wide array of fields. Many government agencies utilize the Pathways Internships and USAJOBS for applications. We recommend that students create a USAJOBS account in order to search for and apply to internships. For more information, visit the USAJOBS site

For internship ideas, look through our curated list below.

Keep in mind that your preferred field of interest may have internships in places you would not think to look— like a Media Relations Internship at the Smithsonian National Zoo.

NEBRASKA CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION:

Working for the United States Congress is a rewarding experience. The internship programs in the Nebraska Delegation’s D.C. offices provide the opportunity to learn first-hand about the operations of Congress, the legislative process, and its role in our nation's government. The Delegation’s D.C. offices are looking for hard-working college interns—Nebraska ties are preferred, but not required. Offices look for interns with excellent writing, research, and interpersonal skills.
