Staff Snapshot: Lindsey Button

Staff Snapshot:

Meet some of the researchers and staff members who make PPC such a great place to work!

For today's staff snapshot, we spoke with Research Specialist, Lindsey Button, who has a background in biology and currently works on several disaster behavioral health projects

Q&A with Lindsey Button:

  • What is something you have learned from your work and collaborations?
I come from a STEM background, and here at the PPC I do a lot of work on behavioral health programs. I have learned a lot about the importance of mental well-being, and that there are so many resources out there for those who are struggling.

  • How do you think the Center’s work impacts Nebraskans?
We have so many projects running at the center that directly impact Nebraskans. Organizing behavioral health trainings, evaluating public programs, and providing support for suicide prevention all directly impact our community and can help improve lives.

  • What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?
    Measure twice. Cut once.

  • What/who inspires/motivates you?
My family inspires me every day and helps keep me grounded in what’s important.

  • What is one challenge you have faced in your career and how did you overcome it?
Moving to a new state, it was difficult for me to find a position in my previous field. Unemployment can be hard, but keeping at it, and pivoting when you need to, will help you make it through and find something you love!
