Meet some of the researchers and staff members who make PPC such a great place to work!
For today's staff snapshot, we spoke with Operations Manager, Lia Bovaird, who manages the PPC’s overall financial operations.
Q&A with Lia Bovaird:
- What is something you have learned from your work and collaborations?
I’ve learned that even with lots of different training, backgrounds, and upbringings, we are all more alike than different.
- How do you think the Center’s work impacts Nebraskans?
The University was founded as a land grant institution. Centers like the PPC that do projects in every part of the State are important to help keep the University an institution that serves the people of the State of Nebraska.
- What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?
Leave every single place you go better than when you got there. Even if it’s picking up trash or smiling at someone.
- What/who inspires/motivates you?
My Dad inspires me because he was a very hard worker and he always had a job where he was trying to make things better for others. He also expected full effort from everyone around him.
What is one challenge you have faced in your career and how did you overcome it?
Passing the CPA exam. I had to study A LOT.
