Women's History Month: Lindsey Button

Staff Spotlight:

In honor of Women's History Month, we want to lift up the voices and victories of women. We asked PPC researchers and staff to share their advice for young women today. During the month of March, we will be sharing their replies. Today, we spoke with Research Specialist Lindsey Button, who has a background in biology and currently works on several disaster behavioral health projects, including the Nebraska Strong Recovery Project

Q&A with Lindsey Button

  • What advice do you have for young women today?
Keep pushing towards you want, and don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself and your goals.

  • What is one way your life/work has been impacted by women?
I have had a lot of strong women in my life, from band leaders in high school, to my Master’s supervisor, to so many peers, family, and friends. Having those strong role models has helped me see what I am capable of and what I can strive towards, and has helped provide support when I’ve needed it most.

  • Can you think of a specific project you have worked on that directly impacts women?
Many of the projects I work on at the PPC directly impact all Nebraskans, including women. The Nebraska Strong Recovery Project in particular reaches out to and helps provide resources for anyone and everyone impacted by COVID-19 in the State.
