Enhancing Peer Support Through Crisis Management and Collaboration

This presentation will be divided into two sections: the first section will focus on crisis management for peer support specialists and the second section will focus on collaboration and teamwork. Participants
will learn the role peers can play in crisis management, including applied examples of peer support within a mobile crisis response team. Participants will also learn the importance of collaboration
and teamwork in their profession, including peers’ role in Nebraska mandated reporting laws. The presentation will also include applied examples of the importance of peer collaboration in a specialty court program.

This training is approved for 3.75 CE credits for Certified Peer Support Specialists. Credits will be awarded to participants who attend the entire training.

OBJECTIVES

  1. Explain the importance of recognizing, assessing, and responding to risks and challenges for continued safety and well-being under distress.
  2. Discuss the impact of being confronted with another persons’ trauma on their own personal wellness.
  3. Explain collaborative advocacy and partnership.
  4. Identify ways to inform clients of the CPSS role related to mandated reporting laws in the state of Nebraska.
