University of Nebraska Public Policy Center faculty fellow Mark Svoboda has been awarded the Innovation, Development, and Engagement (IDEA) Award from the University of Nebraska President's Excellence Awards.
Five University of Nebraska-Lincoln faculty and one University of Nebraska Medical Center faculty member earned University of Nebraska System's most esteemed honors for research, creative activity, teaching and engagement. The awards recognize faculty across the University of Nebraska system whose work has had a strong impact on students, the university, and the state. Dr. Svoboda, the director of the National Drought Mitigation Center, received recognition for his work on drought monitoring early warning information systems, drought risk management planning, and collaborative research.
